How does it work?

We run Freshmeat Courses that will teach you all the basics of skating and roller derby.  We offer skates and safety pads for a minimal hire fee and you will be trained by our Bay City Roller's coaches.   
Even if the last time you put those skates on you were knee high with pigtails, this course is ideal for you if you wanna get fit and join a team sport.  From complete novices, ex-soccer/rugby/netball, ex artistic or speed skaters looking for a new fun sport, we cater to all levels.

​Guys and girls wanted!

We are looking to recruit both men and women to join the league and train to be Zeebz (Referees).  No skating experience is required and you can even roll on inline skates as a Ref.  We'll teach you the rules.   If you're interested...you know the drill!

Can't Skate | Won't skate?

Roller Derby requires a lot of non skating supporters/members, if you don't think rolling on eight wheels is your thing then how about becoming an NSO (Non Skating Official)?  We have many different roles available to suit your skills, abilities and interests. Get in contact today!

Junior Roller Derby

Give us your firstborn!  Junior derby is finally starting in Hawke's Bay.This version of derby is positional only (not full contact).  Available for ages 10-17, boys/ girls & teenagers.  We teach the basics of skating and roller derby with a fun slant.  No experience required.
