Battle of the Bays

Inaugural Battle of the Bays triple header. The Bay City Rollers first public home bout against K-Town Derby Dolls (Kawerau) and Bin City Brutalion (Gisborne). A fantastic crowd of nearly 900 packed out the stand with many seeing Roller Derby for the first time. The audience was quick to catch on to the rules and by the last jam of the night the roar from the crowd was deafening. With skaters & the audience taken to the after party by the Thirsty Bus we partied until the wee small hours at The Thirsty Whale.
